Film evaluation
For film we had to male a freak or unique advert.

The props we had to use where a Lipton Ice Tea bottle and our label for our product we created for our advert that we made in graphics lesson's to put on the bottle.

The Equipment we used was a camera to record all the scenes for our advert, a tripod to support the camera so it wouldn't be shake as it would i we recorded by hand it also helps with creating different shots for example the jib shot. we used a microphone to pick up sound like footsteps going down the staircase in the recording, and we used headphones so we could hear the sound that the microphone picks when recording.

We used 4 different locations the first one being one of the stair case going to the refectory, the second one being the B floor lift room, the third the corridor of the B floor, and then the fourth being the arched room on the B floor. We used the staircase as a scene leading to the Lift room so it looked like a normal student heading to get the lift to another floor. The way we filmed this scene was with me under the stair case using a tilt shot, after that we then filmed the "student" walking to the lift and pushing the button we used this room to also reveal the "monster leaving the lift (for this scene we used a Jib shot and tilt shot) and the student opening the drink (close up), The corridor we used for the chase scene where we had the camera following behind the "monster" who is chasing the"student", and the arched room was used for when the "student" takes a sip of his drink (product) and the "monster" vanishes.

Filming considerations: the time of day didn't effect us much because we where a) doing it in lesson, b) the area we where in was shaded a bit so it wasn't to bright(which we needed), we needed to consider what time the lift was going to busy and the time when hardly anyone used it because we needed it to be empty to create the effect we wanted and so you would focus more on the "monster" then what could be going of in the background if other people where in the lift as well.

The editing techniques we used where the Black and white filter to make the advert look dark, we used the dip to transition some scenes and to introduce the logo at the end, we also repeated using the running scene multiple times to make it look like he was running more then he did, and then we used cut to it all the scenes together.

The obstacles we faced where when we used the lift it took a few attempts to film that scene because people getting into the lift and coming to the B floor so we had to wait quite a bit to film that scene, and another obstacle we faced was editing because non of use had experience with film editing so it took a bit of time to fully understand what to do.

  1. Great, little advert, that sold the product. Keep up the good work, Abbi
